Cage and Audit Operations

Shelley Schmaltz has more than 15 years in the casino industry working in cage and audit operations, as well as a financial analyst.

She has been involved with planning and implementing internal controls for both cage and main bank at several of the most successful casinos in Indian Country.

Additionally, Schmaltz has developed and introduced streamlined procedures for daily auditing of casino assets. Her procedures for balancing main bank funds with individual department profit centers on a daily basis, routinely save casinos hundreds of thousands of dollars per year.

Schmaltz has been involved with executive level planning and implementation of cage and audit operations procedures during three casino openings, developing and introducing policy and procedures, training staff, and providing financial analysis and reporting.

Previously, Schmaltz served as Revenue Audit Manager and Financial Analyst for one of the most profitable casinos in Indian Country, working with executives to develop and maintain annual budgets upwards of $100 million.
